the first law of karmic replacement dynamics

i'd been working on writing/recording this song for a few days now and i really thought that it had some very good promise. at around two last nite ( actually this morning) the file suddenly began acting in a weird manner... uh oh. can you say fore-shadowing of trouble. yep. if you are as smart as you look, you've already figured that the file has been corrupted and is beyond repair. i hope to be able to recreate most of it as all of the guitar parts seems to be ok. but... i do fear the first "law of karmic replacement dynamics" which states that the difficulty of equally replacing or recreating something decreases exponentially according to how good it actually was....

but you know what they say... law are meant to be broken.

don't be a stranger

Good luck. Hopefully the next song your singing isn't "I fought the Law and the... Law won."

Take heart! I do this all of the time - sheer unluckiness, by accident, or deliberately. I'll explain the latter.
In my wee world of software development, we often creat mockups of solutions - prototypes if you will - and deliberately write them in another language so as to force ourselfs to do the real job again - from scratch.
Often I find it liberating to have to start again, because I have aleady done the task, know how to do it, remember it, and will not have the previous task's 'baggage' to stop be from making it better - you know the old 'it works, dont fix it rule'.

Best of luck, and I can bet that the second attempt will have that little something 'extra' that you didn't count for in the first, that will make it that bit better.

Brian!! You didn't have a backup? If there's anything I learned from technology, it's that you've got to have a backup, especially if it something that's very valuable to you.

Glad you're able to recreate it. Laws are meant to be broken and guess what? It'll be so much better this time. Perhaps it was meant to be, karmically, so you can break the law and make a better one. Figure that huh?

Pep, don't worry. Brian has the worst time spelling when he's IMing. Especially if he's got some "inspiration".
